There us information on propagation, altitude requirements, alternate species and group planting suggestions. Everything you need to know from a cow...
Everything you need to know....comes from cows! You will not only enjoy this witty guide, but you'll be passing the 'bull' on to everyone you know! Texas Bix Bender offers tips on life from a side of beef...uh, from a cow's view, that is. You'll laugh yourself silly as you grow wiser (or is that wider?) with such wit and wisdom as "You can always tell a bull, but you can't tell him much," and "They made tomorrow so you wouldn't have to eat everything today." You won't regret devouring this little gem! Enjoy it as soon as you can! -CH, Tulsa

A Legacy of Words: Texas Women's Stories, 1850-1920
Published in Paperback by Doss Books (01 March, 1999)
Author: Ava E. Mills
Average review score:

Informative, Exciting, Entertaining and also Poignant.
A superb collection of stories and reminiscences by Texan Women. Ava Mills has done a splendid job of collating and editing some fascinating accounts of what it was like to be a woman in Texas between 1850 and 1920. Bad weather, pesky indians and arduous travel are only some of the issues these women had to contend with. A moving testament to the bravery, steadfastness and, physical and mental strength of these remarkable ladies, I heartily recommend this book to anyone with an interest in Texas history from a female perspective.

Superb overview.
Charles Cutter, professor at Purdue University and all-around nice guy, has written a superb overview of an often overlooked aspect of Spanish frontier history. Son of legendary Borderlands historian Donald Cutter, Charles proves himself a premier historian of the period in his own right.

Lone Star Ladies of Note
A study of Texas women and the conflicting images and myths that have grown up about them. Texas women were activists. They ran ranches, branded cattle, lobbied the halls of the Texas Legislature, led strikes, ran hospitals, preached the gospel, got elected to public office and built major institutions. Women brought civilized life to hundreds of Texas towns by organizing libraries, museums, parks, symphony orchestras, Sunday schools, literary clubs and charitable organizations.
